Zelfgemaakte Markt!

It was a gloriously sunny day with a slight breeze under the trees.

Perfect for a market.

I had a great time and also sold a few pieces.

The next step will be updating my etsy shop and of course planning a few workshops!

Mosaic Cross

And so I completed the cross.

Made from a beautiful antique side plate on an MDF base.

Tomorrow I will be at the Zelfgemaakte Markt in Utrecht where it will be for sale.

A Cross in the Making

I'm making a few things to sell at the Zelfgemaakte Markt.

Hard to believe it is less than two weeks away!

This morning I started working on a cross.

I bought some old plates a while ago, and now I finally got the chance to smash one of them to pieces!

Hopefully the cross will be done in a day or two so that it can be grouted and finished next weekend.

I just received some good news!

I have been selected for the next Zelfgemaakte Markt in Utrecht on 26 May 2012.

Definitely a good way to start the weekend :-)

Water Paint + Food = Illustrations

I love to paint and draw and my illustration class with Kim Welling is really helping me find my own style.

Since I have a 'slight' obsession with food I find myself drawn to illustrating food too.

(surprise, surprise)

Here are some illustrations I made with water paint, a medium which I simply ignored for the last 20 years. Silly me, since I really like the effect.

Now all I need to do is make time to experiment and draw some more!

IWCU Workshop Results!

On Saturday I held a beginners mosaic workshop for six ladies of the IWCU.

It turned out to be a lovely afternoon with six really creative women.
Two made beautiful picture frames, and four made house numbers.

The results were great - all different colours and designs.

Happiness!

Next I will grout their pieces and the work will be complete.

I will post the final results as soon as its ready.
